Curriculums
Life at the CrossRoads is the cornerstone of the CrossRoads strategy - an interactive curriculum designed to teach character and life skills. The current Third Edition provides teachers with three options for teaching Life at the CrossRoads ; a short version called Core; a mid-length version called CorePlus; and the complete or Comprehensive version. These are not for sale, since those who wish to use the curriculum need to first be trained and certified. Core provides the essence of Life at the CrossRoads in eight lessons. When taught sequentially, these lessons form the core of Life at the CrossRoads . Suggested uses for Core might include:
- Introducing Life at the CrossRoads
- Introducing foundational concepts to students as part of a multi-year approach to teaching Life at the CrossRoads (i.e., Year 1, Core; Year 2, CorePlus; Year 3, Comprehensive; etc.)
- Teaching a refresher course on the Comprehensive curriculum.
CorePlus builds on the foundation of Core by adding eight more lessons, sixteen in all. Suggested uses for CorePlus might include:
- Teaching Life at the CrossRoads over one semester.
- Building on foundational concepts as part of a multi-year approach to teaching Life at the CrossRoads (i.e., Year 1, Core; Year 2, CorePlus; Year 3, Comprehensive; etc.).
- Teaching a refresher course on the Comprehensive curriculum.
The Comprehensive curriculum is comprised of 28-lessons. This version is still the most effective way to use the Life at the CrossRoads curriculum. When teaching for healthy relationships and decision making, studies have shown that the reinforcement that comes from at least 20 lessons has the most lasting effect.
